BHN Recovery Staff Receive Awards

Christopher Barrett was one of three BHN employees recognized for their work in the recovery field by WMSAPA.


Three employees from BHN – Mike Currie, Christopher Barrett and Peter Crumb – were recently recognized for their work in recovery at the Western Massachusetts Substance Abuse Providers Association (WMSAPA) annual meeting.



Currie, a Peer Support Specialist for Franklin County Family Drug Court's MISSION-Hope Program at BHN, and Barrett, a Senior Counselor at BHN Hope Center in Springfield, both received the Outstanding Service in the Field Award. Crumb, a Peer Specialist at The Living Room, received the Lifetime Achievement Award from WMSAPA.

Our social skills lessons are delivered in a friendly group format that includes role-play demonstrations and group activities. Parents and caregivers join each meeting in an adjacent session to learn how to support their child’s new skills.

Springfield Mayor Dominic Sarno and Superintendent Lawrence Akers have announced the launch of Project HOPE 2.0. BHN is grateful to provide behavioral health support for this important initiative. BHN Program Manager Hallie Beth Hollister and Senior Vice President Kathy Mague joined Mayor Sarno, Superintendent Akers, Lieutenant Brian Elliot, and Director of Housing Gerry McCafferty for the announcement.
